Faye's "Shaker effect Garden Frame"

As soon as I saw this product, I knew I wanted to create a shaker box. I started by building and then painting the frame and accessories.

If I am covering a solid colour, I often use tester paint pots. I save my "art" paints for effect and when shades are needed.

I decided that it would be better if I created an extra frame for the Perspex to fit into. I was adding sequins so needed a solid seal. I cut card the size of the frame, placed the Perspex on top and drew around it. I cut out the middle section so when placed together the Perspex would fit exactly and would create a flat surface for the pattern top to be glued to. This would ensure no escaped sequins.

Plant pots were painted and coffee glued inside to create 'soil'. I made sure I banged the plant pots to remove any loose coffee or parts. The frame would be shaken so did not want any loose coffee floating around.
Coolkatz flowers were added (I used the coolkatz flower dies) and then put aside to dry.
The dumbbell die set was great to attach the pictures to the string.
Everything was glued and left for a day. As it would be shaken it was important everything was secure.

After a day drying, I placed sequins inside, glued the made frame, perspex and top patterned frame. Again, I left it flat for a day to dry completely.
Banner dies were used to cut patterned paper and Coolkatz stamps were
inked onto them. These were added to the top and bottom.

It's amazing how many wonderful ways you can adapt this kit to create
your own unique project.
