It's all about texture!

I love to create texture using the CoolKatz Stencils. They are durable,
easy to line up and very easy to clean.



The Greenhouse was great fun to put together and even more fun to
decorate. I used the Brick Wall with Masonry Edges stencil underneath
the window line to create an old-fashioned style brick and wooden
greenhouse. Firstly, I stencilled the bricks using texture paste and once
they were completely dry I painted over the top with a mixture of
PaperArtsy Paints in Brown and Orange. It takes a little time to paint
each brick, but it is well worth it in the end as the result is very
natural, and it is also a relaxing thing to do.



I use the Flagstone stencil time and time again, it's another great
workhorse of a stencil!



I've used it on so many projects but these photos are from the Garden
Bench I created last year. I stencilled texture paste through and
made sure it was completely dry before using a Cadence Hybrid paint over
the top. I love the way the paint pools and creates a natural look to
the flagstones.



Another one of my favourite techniques doesn’t involve stencils at all,
in fact all you need is PVA glue and a sandy/golden yellow shade of
embossing powder, then voila you have a sandy beach....



And to finish off another wall, this time a full upright wall created
using the same technique of texture paste through bthe stencil, letting
it dry before a relaxing session of music and painting each brick with
PaperArtsy paints.



I love the realistic effect you can get by mixing just two colours of
paint together.



It is so interesting to see how our DT's projects build up and how they
all use the stencils in different ways.
