Jenny's Chaise Longue - A special occasion

Jenny's Chaise Longue - A special occasion

Last week Elizabeth said she would be sharing her completed Flocked Chaise

Longue Mini Scene but it’s taken a ‘top secret’ twist so she will be revealing all in a

little while – and it’s amazing so well worth the wait!

Instead, Jenny is here with a Birthday Chaise Longue, all set in a summer garden to

celebrate a special day.

Texture paste was spread through the Flagstone Path Stencil for the base, painted

over with layers of paint and embellished with lichen moss. Elizabeth’s trick of using

a white pen between the paving slabs is such a great way of making the colours pop.

For the background start by painting on the blue sky and sponge on fluffy clouds

before flicking your brush with several shades of green paint to create long grass.

The fence is made from those balsa wood background stretchers that often come in

canvas kits.

The chaise longue has been decorated simply with white paint sanded back

vigorously for a shabby chic look. Wrap fabric around the mdf cushion base that

comes as part of the kit and attach with Sticky Paws Pro Tape. Cut a strip of fabric

wider than the width of the Chaise, fold over the long edges and use the tape again

to attach all along the base of the Chaise. Finish with a little trim if you like.

The present boxes have been cut using the Cereal Box Die Set, the Boxes with Lids

Die Set, and Flap Closure Box Die Set, all finished with ribbon to make them extra

special. Try leaving a box or two open so you can add a little crumpled tissue and

one of your presents for extra interest in your scene.

Believe it or not the cake also starts life as a die cut Round Box! Cover with texture

paste, leaving an indent around the middle for some jam, and paint to give it that

yummy Victoria sponge look. Finish with some red enamel around the middle and of

course you can now get 3D Resin Miniature Candles from CoolKatzCraft to pop on

top.

Add some glue or resin to the inside of your 3D Resin Cup and when completely dry

paint with brown paint to emulate a fresh cup of tea/coffee. And of course who

doesn’t love a bunch of red roses! Made with the Ruffle Petal Die Set and Rose

Leaves Die Set, they can be wrapped in a twist of brown paper to keep the stems

together.

Wow, Jenny what a beautiful and inspiring project, can't wait to have a go!
