Lynne's Surprise Pocket page.

Lynne's Surprise Pocket page.

This page layout is based on pocket page 7¾”(H) x 7½” (W)
which is going into my hidden frame album I'm currently working on.
The layout is designed for an odd number of pocket page eg:- 1,3,5 etc if I
wanted an even number then a mirror image is required.

I cut card as follows :-

Large flap – 7¾”x7½”, score ½” on 1 long side

Mini flap – 41/8”x 45/8”, score1/2”, 5/8” on 1 side edge this will give 1/8” gusset.

Pocket – 8 ¾” x 2½”, score ½” on 2 short sides and 1 long side.

Pop up mechanism – Cut 3 @ 3” x 3” , score all 3 @ ½”, 1½” and 2½”.

Inside folded – 5½” x7”, score @ 3½”.

3mm ribbon – 2½” length

4 magnets

Pic 1 - shows all the card cut ready.

Pic 2 - shows mini flap in place just over the edge of the pocket page.

Pic 3 - shows large flap and pocket in place.

******** Now is the time to decorate the inside of the large flap, base
page & pocket. *****

Pic 4 -  shows curved photo slots 3"x 2" in place using corner spacers
1" + 1/4"

Pic 5 - shows pop up mechanism.

Pic 6 - shows page marked for pop up mechanism.

Pic 7 - shows first ½” score glued to base page butting up to the hinge - not over it

Pic 8 - shows 1st part of mechanism in place.

Pic 9 - shows 2nd part of mechanism, 1/2 score in place glued to top of the 1”
fold.

Pic 10 - shows both parts 2 & 3 in place.

Pic 11- shows how mechanism should look completed.

Pic 12 - shows centre & 1½”either side marked on inside folded. I cover the outside as well to give the pop up more stability.
Pic 13 - shows glue spread .

Pic 14 - shows placement of magnets, you could use 1 either side, however, I believe 2 either side holds the layout down more securely.

Pics 15 & 16 - shows completed layout.

Pics 17 & 18 - shows a larger, different  layout with a pocket page size 8”x 81/8”.

Pic 19 - shows measurements for larger size pop up page.
