DesignTeam member Lynne has created a series of tutorials for her "Little Things Album" in bite sized chunks perfect for someone who is just starting their Album making journey as well as a more experienced Album maker.
So over to Lynne to explain further...
9x9 gatefold album
1 @ 9 inches x 9 inches greyboard ( back)
2 @ 9 inches x 4 1/2 inches ( left & right front covers)
2 @ 9 inches x 2 1/2 inches ( left & right spines)
Pic 1 - layout of greyboard using black frame tape, I used the wider black tape on the left hand spine to ensure greyboard covered.
Pic 2 - spine cover placement using 12" alignment tools.
Pic 3 - shows inside covered in black card.
Pic 4 - outside of finished album.
If allowing for 1/8" edge then the measurements for covering inside of album is as follows:
Left front 8 3/4 inches x 4 1/4 inches ( height by length)
Left spine 8 1/4 inches x 6 inches
Back 8 3/4 inches x 8 3/4 inches
Right spine 8 3/4 inches x 2 1/4 inches
Right front 8 3/4 inches x 4 1/4 inches
4 pocket pages 8 1/4 inches x 8 1/4 inches ( cut 8 @ 8 3/4 inches x 8 1/4 inches )
Extended stacking spine - 1 @ 8 1/4 inches x 2 1/2 inches
- 1 @ 8 1/4 inches x 3 1/2 inches
****** how to put together stacking spine and pocket pages can be found on my blog post from 21/9/22 called "Life's a journey ********
Putting spine into album and decorating inside covers will be on next blog post .
It took two 8x8 paper pads 24 sheets in each pack, six 12x12 papers, a4 plain cardstock from my stash in: brick red, grass green, teal blue and mustard yellow
That's a great start to the Album. Don't forget to check back the first week of June for the next section.
and if Lynne has inspired you to have a go at creating your own version, don't forget to share you project in the CoolKatz Facebook group.
