Thanks for the Memory

These dies are exceptional in their detail, the ability to make 1:12^th and 1:24^th perfectly formed suitcases could not be easier. The pieces cut from the die with all score lines in place so you only have to fold, burnish and stick – no measuring or faffing required.

I chose to make up both cases, with one fitting in the other, to make a memory box with lots of ephemera inside each one. You may choose to have a closed case and the die plates allow you to decide how the case can be finished with straps and buckle pieces and even a tiny luggage label…perfect for personalising your end result.

I think the cases look fabulous and can be used in many different ways to accent or represent the detail for a mini scene for example, closed and tucked under a bed or standing in a hallway ready to go, or open on a bed part packed. They are perfect for filling a disused space in an attic and the different sizes and colours that can be used with basic cardstock in the first instance can bring a pop of colour or can be dirtied up with inks or chalks to give the distressed and faded look. I can’t wait to make a Christmas scene as we all have baubles and glitzy bits in storage and I think the case would be lovely with bright shiny things spilling from it as the tree is being decorated. But remember, a case is not just for Christmas – it’s for whatever you want in your mini world.
